Overcome the MLM Money Objection

It is so often that network marketers hear the phrase "I would love to be a part of your team, but I just can't afford that $99 to get started (the cost to enroll in the It Works! distributor program)." At that point, many people say, "OK, well call me when you have the money and we can get you started." Do you ever hear from those people again? 99% of the time you don't, and you just brush them off. Those people could easily be your superstars because of their will to succeed and their want to have a better life. Use this technique to convert those people without any money to one of your team's MLM superstars with this simple set of 3 steps:

Step 1: Qualify the Objection - Is that person saying that they don't have the money because they truly are broke, or because they just don't want anything to do with what you are offering them? Ask the person straight up, "Be honest with me (prospect's name). If you had the money right now, would you pull your credit card out and get started right now, or do you have the money and just don't want to hurt my feelings because you do have the money but just don't want to join?" It's a simple question, but it will allow you to see if that person truly is interested in the business opportunity you are offering. You will either get someone to say "yes, I would love to be a part of your team, but truly don't have the money," or they will say "you got me, it's just not my thing. Thank you for offering though," at which you know to either continue helping the person get started with your MLM opportunity, or know to walk away because it isn't worth your time to pursue the person any further. If the person is no longer a prospect, you can stop here, otherwise, continue to step 2.

Step 2: Set a Deadline with the Prospect - Tell the person that you are going to work with them, but they have to be willing to stick with a 72-hour deadline you are going to give them, but if they follow what you are going to tell them to do faithfully and passionately, they will be able to join. Make sure they understand and commit themselves.

Step 3: Have the Prospect Put Themselves in Past-Tense - Tell the person to pull out a pen and piece of paper. If you are talking to them on the phone, have them do this while you are on the phone, and if you are talking to them in person, have them do this right in front of you. Tell the prospect to write this down EXACTLY as you say it (this is very important): "It is (write down the date that is 3 days from date of writing this). I, (Prospect's first name), have just finished filling out the application for enrolling with It Works! and setting up my auto-ship. I am sitting in front of my computer in my office. Now that I have came up with the money, I can't believe how easy it was to get started. I just can't believe it. This is exactly how I did it:." Have the person write a list of 50 things that they did to raise that cash to cover the enrollment fee to get started, not that they are going to do (put themselves in the picture). Tell that person that if they write this list resourcefully and commit to it, that you promise them they can do it. Give the person some ideas to put on that list. Tell the prospect that the time starts now, and you can't wait to have them on your team.
